Bonanza Two-Seven-Six-Nine-Tango

The picture above was taken in September 2001 at the San Bernardino International Airport shortly after the retirement ceremony for SAM 27000 (Two-Seven-Thousand).

When flying with United States Presidents aboard its call sign was “Air Force One.”  SAM 27000, a Boeing 707, served as the primary aircraft for Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush (for the first few months of his term before SAM 28000, a Boeing 747, became the President’s primary aircraft). It is now at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.

In the foreground is Bonanza N2769T (Two-Seven-Six-Nine-Tango), often known simply as “Six-Nine-Tango.” Bonanza N2769T, a Beechcraft V35, served as Wonder Wife’s primary aircraft. At the end of 2011 Six-Nine-Tango found a new home in Carlsbad, California.
